Police are treating the death of a man in Dundee as murder.
They were called to the city’s Lawton Terrace at around 2.25 this morning following concerns for a 44-year-old man.
An ambulance attended alongside officers but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A major investigation to work out the full circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing.
Next of kin have been informed but formal identification is yet to take place.
Detective Inspector Ged Fitzpatrick of the Major Investigation Team said: “A major police investigation has been launched and I would like to reassure the community that all efforts are underway to trace the person responsible.
“We would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at or around this time to contact police.
“There will be a visible police presence in the area whilst we continue with enquiries into the incident.”
Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Police Scotland’s Tayside Division on 101 or speak to any police officer.
