The body of a 19-year-old man has been pulled from the water at a gorge in Perthshire.

The teenager was part of a group that got into difficulty at the Falls of Bruar near Pitlochry last night.

He remained unaccounted for following a rescue operation.

It is understood the man’s friends formed a human chain to save him, but he was swept into a cave by the current.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “Next of kin have been made aware and no further details will be released until formal identification has taken place.”
